ABOUT THE PROGRAM:
Reggie’s is Concordia University’s long-running student bar and social space located on the mezzanine level of the Henry F. Hall Building in downtown Montréal. Originally created by students as an affordable gathering place on campus, Reggie’s has served for decades as a hub for student life—hosting trivia nights, live music, parties, and events organized by student groups. Today it operates as a solidarity cooperative, meaning students, workers, and community members participate in its governance. Beyond being a bar, Reggie’s plays an important role in Concordia’s student-run campus ecosystem, offering a space where students can socialize, organize events, and build community.

TIMELINE
Early 1990s — Creation of the student bar
- Reggie’s began as a student-run bar created by the Concordia Student Union (CSU) to provide an affordable social space for students.
- It originally operated on the 7th floor of the Henry F. Hall Building downtown.
1994 — Move to the Hall building mezzanine
- Reggie’s relocated from the 7th floor to the Hall Building mezzanine (2nd floor) where it still operates today.
2000s–2010s — Student bar and campus event space
- Reggie’s became a central campus venue for:
- student association events
- live music and DJ nights
- trivia nights and themed parties
- student group fundraisers
- It also expanded its food service and membership program offering discounts to members.
2016 — Transition to solidarity co-operative model
Reggie’s transitioned to operating as a solidarity cooperative, meaning:
- workers, students, and community members participate in governance.
- the goal is a more community-oriented, democratic business model.
Late 2010s–Present Popular student space and campus bar
- Continues as Concordia’s primary student bar and event venue in the Hall building.
