ABOUT THE PROGRAM:
Regenesis is a student-led environmental and sustainability initiative that supports our campus community through accessible, community-driven programs. One of our core initiatives is the Good Food Market, a weekly low-cost produce market that brings fresh, healthy food directly to students at prices that match or fall below typical market rates. Our goal is to reduce food insecurity, promote sustainable food systems, and make nutritious options more accessible for everyone on campus.
This is an initiative run at our other chapters as well including UofT Mississauga, UofT St.George, and York University (Keele Campus).
KEY CHALLENGES:
- Price transparently, matching or beating local markets builds trust and encourages return visitors.
- Stay consistent with timing and location so students can incorporate your market into their weekly routine
KEY SUCCESSES:
- Consistent Access to Affordable Produce: The Good Food Market has become a reliable source of fresh fruits and vegetables for students who may otherwise struggle with cost or access.
- High Engagement and Positive Feedback: We regularly see strong turnout and appreciation from students who rely on the market for weekly groceries.
- Sustainable Sourcing: We prioritize sourcing that minimizes environmental impact, while keeping prices accessible.
